Every story begins with a spark—an idea, a dream, a lingering “what if” that refuses to be ignored. When I set out to write my paranormal romance, I knew I wanted to create a world that felt both otherworldly and deeply emotional, a place where love could transcend time, fate, and even the boundaries between light and darkness.
But where did it all begin? Let me take you behind the veil and share the inspiration that brought my supernatural world to life.
A Love Story Written in the Stars
I’ve always been captivated by the concept of love that transcends boundaries. What unfolds when an awkward teenager finds herself torn between two affections? This question became the core of my narrative. Whether it’s a timeless entity falling for a human, an angel drawn to a mortal, or a supernatural fighter grappling with obligation versus passion, I aimed for my characters to confront obstacles that elevate their love to something monumental—something truly worth battling for.
Mythology, Folklore, and the Unknown
Much of my world is shaped by ancient myths and folklore. I spent hours diving into old legends about angels, fallen beings, and supernatural watchers—guardians who observe but do not interfere. The idea of these celestial figures, bound by rules yet yearning for something more, fascinated me. What if one of them broke the rules? What if love was the reason?
I also found inspiration in the idea of the Veil—the invisible boundary between our world and the supernatural. What if that veil was thinning? What if someone could see beyond it? These questions led me to create a world where the paranormal isn’t just legend—it’s real, hidden in plain sight, waiting to be discovered.
Characters with Shadows and Light
At the heart of my story are characters who are relatable. I’ve always been drawn to people with inner battles—those who crave redemption, those who are torn between what they are and what they wish to be. My protagonist, Rhiannon, is one of them. She had never planned to fall in love, but fate had other plans.
